Support Local Theater

We (Marianne Trenka and Tessa J. Brown, producers of Café O’Lait Cabaret ) are two Montreal-based performers and producers–we are bringing our latest two-woman show to the Montreal Fringe Festival. We’ll be presenting comedy, circus, dance, burlesque, poetry, and more! We’re both professional artists, and so we’re doing our best to recoup the costs of our Fringe registration fees and the other costs incurred by producing a show. By funding our campaign, you’re helping two starving artists starve a little less!

For your contribution, we’ll be offering a variety of perks—if you donate $25, you get a free ticket to our Fringe show, and if you donate $40, you get two! Additionally, for donations of $10, Tessa (a published poet) will write you a poem on a subject of your choosing.

We would love to reach our goal of $500, but if we don’t, the funds we do raise will go towards the costs of producing this show. Any amount is incredibly helpful, and we’re so grateful to anybody who’s willing to contribute even a little bit. Producing these shows is a real passion project for both of us—all of our shows are aimed at showcasing the talents of women and gender non-conforming people, and our two-woman show is no different. Great Scott Media called it “a whimsical, funny, incisive romp through the absurdities of socially imposed femininity.”
